Southern Glazer's offers a competitive compensation package with a salary range of $65,000-$75,000 plus bonus.  In determining the final offer the company will evaluate a specific candidates' education, skills and experience and will make an offer appropriately.

Overview

As a Logistics Strategy Specialist, your primary responsibilities would include developing and implementing strategic plans to optimize supply chain operations. This involves analyzing logistics processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing efficient solutions. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage logistics projects, and stay updated on industry trends to ensure the organization's logistics strategies align with business objectives. Strong communication skills, project management experience, and a deep understanding of logistics and supply chain principles are essential for success in this role.

 

Primary Responsibilities

Lead the development and execution of logistics strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall operational performance.

Lead various Supplier Synergy Workstreams which include the tracking and on-time execution of activities to support business initiatives. Requirements strong communication skills and ability to prepare executive-level presentations in PowerPoint.

Execute Strategic Carrier Business Reviews and manage the tracking and completion of performance improvement plans; analyze carrier performance metrics in Power BI

Develop training materials and deploy to cross-functional teams.

Execute annual transportation RFP events, including sharing projections, route-to-market strategies and coordinating pre/post bid actions.

Execute Seasonal Wine Shipping Programs: Execute route-to-market strategies through procurement and operational activities to ensure product protection from weather damages.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, commercial operations, and commercial finance to align logistics strategies with overall business objectives.

Project Management: Oversee logistics projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and successful implementation of key initiatives.

Industry Trends: Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in logistics to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio required
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems preferred
  • Experience with EDI Business Application preferred
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Project management experience, including successful project delivery.
  • In-depth knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.

 

Physical Demands

  • Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to rare amount of time include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 15lbs
