Electrical Engineer

The Electrical Engineer will assemble, test, troubleshoot and modify electrical equipment and systems  under the supervision of the electrical manager with the goal of developing and maintaining advanced applied electrical engineering methods. The Electrical Engineer will be involved in maintaining existing equipment and the development of new equipment and processes, when necessary.

  • Assembles, tests, and troubleshoots motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, solenoids, hydraulic, pneumatic and other electrical equipment and systems.
  • Modifies electrical systems to correct functional deviations.
  • Knowledge of and ability to program and troubleshoot PLC’s.
  • Diagnoses cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Develops wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for system or equipment modifications or expansion and directs personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties.
  • Plans, directs, and records periodic electrical testing, and recommends or initiates modification or replacement of equipment which fails to meet acceptable operating standards.
  • Oversees new production installations and projects.
  • Identifies potential areas of product and process improvement; recommends and assists with development of appropriate solutions.
  • Involved in the development of new methods to improve product quality and automation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in PLC’s preferred, HMI, SCADA and networking.
  • Experience with AC and DC motor drive systems.
  • Knowledge of power distribution systems, 480V to 25Kv.
  • Understanding of NFPA 70E and OSHA requirements
  • Hydraulics systems experience desired
  • Process control and automation experience.
  • Fluent in AutoCad.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and math skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to identify, assess and solve problems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software program.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to travel.
  • Ability to work 50+ hours per week, when necessary. Must be able to be on-call and work weekends, when necessary.
