POSITION: Branch Manager – Willard / Ash Grove
LOCATION: Willard Branch – 304 E Jackson Street #1A – Willard, MO
Ash Grove Branch – 101 E Main Street – Ash Grove, MO
Classification: Full Time
Salary Track: Branch Manager I
FLSA Status: Exempt
SALARY: $51,126.40 annually

The Branch Manager in this position oversees operations at both the Willard and Ash Grove Branches, currently managing seven staff members in Willard and three in Ash Grove. Both locations offer opportunities to engage with the community in many ways. This position offers growth and the ability to see how library management can be fully engaged and involved in community development.
This is a full-time position, approximately 40 hours per week. Candidates must be available to work any hours the library branch is open. Willard is open Monday through Saturday from 7:30am to 6:00pm. Ash Grove is open Monday through Friday from 9:30am to 6:00pm. As a condition of employment, work schedules may change as necessary to best provide user services and to meet the Library’s responsibility to the citizens of Greene County.

This position requires an MLS or MLIS from an ALA accredited institution or currently enrolled and near completion of said degree. To be considered for this position TRANSCRIPTS MUST ACCOMPANY YOUR APPLICATION. All candidates for employment must be at least 16 years old.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility for daily operations of the library branch
- Manages, schedules, and trains branch staff to assure productivity and high levels of patron service
- Coordinates all branch library services and programming in compliance with system policies and procedures
- Maintains positive relationships with the community; may speak to organizations, conduct library tours, and promote library services
- Prepares and submits the annual branch budget for programming and equipment and is accountable for expenditures
- Is a member of and participates in monthly meetings of the Administrative staff
- Interprets and implements the Library’s General Conduct Policy
- Timeliness: The employee must be punctual and timely in arriving to work and completing tasks. The employee must also be capable of working all of the hours in their assigned shift.
- Ability to work with others and the general public: It is essential that individual who works in this position have the ability to work and interact in a cooperative, pleasant, and constructive manner with others.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to organize work effectively, lead and direct personnel, and carry out programs.
- Considerable knowledge of library management and trends with particular emphasis on patron services.
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively respond to problems and complaints with library patrons and/or staff
Education/Experience
- MLS, or MLIS degree from an ALA accredited institution or currently enrolled and near completion of MLIS for the May 2024 posting at Willard and Ash Grove
- Five years of professional, supervisory, public library experience is preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in customer service excellence
Contact

Supervision
- Reports to the Associate Director
Physical Demands
- May stand for extended periods of time
- May work at a computer terminal for extended periods
- Routine lifting and handling of library materials weighing up to 30 lbs.
Working Environment
- Primarily indoors with heating and cooling regulated in a general library/office environment
Miscellaneous Requirements
- Must pass a security background check
