General Responsibilities: As part of a multidisciplinary team; conduct psychiatric assessments; assess physical health needs; make appropriate referrals to community physicians; provide supervision, management and administration of medication in conjunction with the psychiatrist; deliver medication management, medication reviews/updates and occasional initial psychiatric evaluation services for clients who receive services from Sunrise Services Geriatric Transitions Program and Expanded Community Services in a community setting.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:
- Conduct face-to-face appointments with GTP/ECS program clients in order to assess the client’s need for psychotropic medications, to prescribe and/or administer medications and to review the client’s medications and their side effects.
- Provide occasional short-term psychotherapy to program clients.
- Obtain appropriate informed consent from clients regarding medication effects, risks/benefits and possible adverse effects of medications.
- Prepare and maintain accurate, complete and timely documentation of prescriber services rendered to program clients.
- Provide consultation and training to GTP/ECS program staff regarding appropriate use of psychotropic medications.
- Participate in and conduct parts of the client-centered comprehensive assessment of psychiatric history (e.g., onset, course and effect of illness, past treatment and responses, and risk behaviors), mental status, and diagnosis; physical health and dental health; use of drugs or alcohol; education and employment; social development and functioning; activities of daily living (e.g., self-care, living situation, nutrition, money management); and family structure and relationships.
- Document client progress to maintain a permanent record of client activity according to established methods and procedures.
- Participate in daily staff organizational meetings and treatment planning review meetings.
- Supervise and provide medication administration and medical services.
- Organize and manage the system of getting medication to clients and integrating medication administration tightly into clients’ individual treatment plans.
- In addition to the above, any other responsibilities appropriate to the position and not specifically listed in this job description or tasks that may be assigned on an as needed basis.

Compensation:
$60 - $80/hour Wages are determined by applicable industry experience, education, and certifications/licensure.
$7,000 Sign-on bonus!

Essential Requirements: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience)

Education: Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) must have completed a formal nurse practitioner program and be certified for advanced practice in the State of Washington and a current Washington ARNP licensure with prescriptive authority;
- Bachelor of Science or Masters of Science degree in nursing (BSN/MSN) and/or a minimum of five years of experience is preferred.
- Experience: Experience in a mental health setting, with demonstrated ability to relate effectively with people of varied backgrounds, is preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: ARNP
- Other Considerations:
- DSHS background clearance is required.
- Current valid Washington State driver’s license.
- DEA number.
- Liability Insurance.
- Skill using Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrated leadership ability.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment in challenging dynamic situations including behavioral and staffing issues.
- Skill in reading, synthesizing and acting upon multifaceted information
