The Research Assistant II under general supervision, independently and in collaboration with others, will perform research for projects; may provide interpretation and initial analysis of results; may investigate, troubleshoot and modify methods and procedures; may assist in designing experiments; perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required or assigned.

Job Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Identify laboratory materials and supplies required for experiments and initiate orders via myMarketplace.
  • Conduct experiments in the lab including Cell cultures and biochemical assays.
  • Discuss data and other matters with the PI and participate in laboratory meetings.
  • Analyze and document data relating to above experiments for discussion with PI and readiness for publication; contribute to writing of manuscripts on data generated.
  • General lab maintenance, including cleaning laboratory instruments and equipment and organizing and maintaining lab storage, samples and specimens while following all health and safety regulations.

EXPECTED SALARY:          

Commensurate with Experience. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:          

A bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of experience; a masters degree and two or more years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

Experience in a research environment including the ability to follow research protocols and record research data, etc.

Ability to prioritize based on deadlines.

Effective and proven communication skills.
