PhD Research Intern

Job Summary:
Toyota is looking for Ph.D. students in computer science or electrical engineering in the area of situation understanding and crash risk detection.
 

Objective:
•Work on understanding the driving environment through vehicle sensor data (e.g., camera).
•Develop algorithms to identify potential/actual hazards and crash risk in the driving scene.
•Evaluate the algorithms/models in field experiments with real driving data.
 

Required Qualifications:
•Currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program in computer science or electrical engineering.
•Knowledge of computer vision and time series data analysis.
•Good understanding of machine learning concepts (supervised/unsupervised learning).
•Programming skills in Python and knowledge of data visualization.
 

Preferred Qualifications:
•Computer vision experience is a plus.
•Knowledge of multivariate statistical data analysis is a plus.
•Robot Operating System (ROS) experience is a plus.
