Mechanical Engineering Graduate Research Assistant

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• Identify and purchase sensors, instrumentation, etc. that meet project technical specification.
• Solid model design of mechanical components for engine test fixtures.
• Work with machinists and welders at RPL to fabricate various components for test fixtures.
• Carry out fabrication, disassembly, and assembly of internal combustion engine hardware. Perform internal combustion engine testing.
• Perform data reduction and analysis of test data.

Position Minimum Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering
• Capability to perform design using Solid Works or other solid modeling software
• Basic understanding of internal combustion engine hardware and operation
