Overview: The Shark Group is a Marketing and Consulting firm that offers branding solutions for top brands and celebrities. Founded by Daymond John, star of ABC’s hit show, Shark Tank, our goal is to tap into the heart of a brand and position it for success.
As a Shark Group Video Editor Intern, you are an important part of the team.

The Video division of The Shark Group is looking for the right, determined person to join our team. If you think you have what it takes, then we want to meet YOU.
All applicants must have the following skills:
- Enrolled in a college or university with a focus on film, media, communications, or a related field.
- Well-versed in social media including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for writing video copy.
- Keen attention to detail to ensure brand-voice consistency across all channels.
- Strong initiative and willingness to take ownership and accountability in order to meet deadlines.
- Organized and be able to complete projects independently.
- Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and the ability to edit video content effectively required.
- Demonstrated creativity in storytelling through video and an eye for visual aesthetics.
- Meticulousness in editing videos to achieve a polished and professional final product.
- A proactive approach to learning and a willingness to take on new challenges.
- Enthusiasm to learn about the business.
As an intern, you will gain educational experience by:
- Utilizing professional video editing software to refine and enhance video footage.
- Collaborating with the content team to ensure the videos effectively convey the brand's message and maintain a cohesive narrative.
- Enhancing video elements, such as color correction, sound design, and visual effects, to elevate the overall quality of the videos.
- Ensuring all edited videos align with our brand guidelines and maintain a consistent brand identity.
- Optimizing video content for various platforms, ensuring the best viewing experience across different devices.
- Collaborating with the content team, receiving feedback and making necessary revisions to meet project requirements.
- Organizing and storing a digital library of video assets, ensuring easy access and maintaining efficient workflow.
- Assembling short duration media in a focused, stylistic, and trendy manner.
- Editing footage segments and put together the sequence of the film.
- Inputting music, dialogues, graphics, and effects.
- Creating rough and final cuts.
- Ensuring logical sequencing and smooth running.
- Supporting the department staff with other special projects, as needed.
Learning Outcomes Include:
- Develop proficiency in using professional video editing software, honing the ability to edit raw and previously edited footage into polished and visually appealing videos.
- Cultivate meticulousness in editing videos, ensuring a high level of precision and accuracy in the final output.
- Gain creative post-production skills, including color correction, sound design, and visual effects, to elevate the overall quality of videos.
- Develop an understanding of the company's brand identity and how to maintain consistency across edited videos.
- Strengthen collaboration and communication skills by partnering closely with the content team and incorporating feedback into video edits.
- Improve time management skills to meet video editing deadlines efficiently and effectively.
- Develop problem-solving skills to address challenges that arise during the editing process and find effective solutions.
- Learn to adapt video content for various platforms and devices, optimizing videos for the best viewing experience.
Requirements:
- A passion for Video Editing!
- All candidates must be available to intern virtually at least 3 days per week, for at least 4-6 hours per day, during the office hours of 10-6 pm EST.
- Must be currently enrolled in a college or university and able to receive credit for your internship at The Shark Group.
- Must provide an official school letter acknowledging proof of enrollment and eligibility.
- All internships will be remote, candidates must have access to working wifi and a computer/ laptop.
This is an unpaid internship; however, a $10 daily travel stipend will be provided.
