Environmental Lab Intern

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Enthalpy Analytical, is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, is comprised of over 9 laboratories servicing air, water, soil, and toxicology testing.  Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance.  

 

We are currently seeking a Part-Time Laboratory Technician Intern to be based in our Mt Pleasant, MI lab. 

$14.50/hr

Part-Time 

 

An Intern is responsible for performing tasks required to support laboratory functions and generate data.  The ideal candidate will have basic chemistry knowledge and an eagerness to learn new laboratory skills.  They will be trained to maintain safety conditions and will be passionate for doing work that helps things move forward. Additional duties will include:

  • Preparation of samples for analysis
  • Preparation of standard solutions for lab
  • Cleaning of laboratory glassware
  • Maintaining clean laboratory areas, sample receiving, disposal and supporting other business tasks
  • Maintaining organized records of sample preparation
  • Overhead projects designed to improve efficiency of, or accuracy of analyses
  • Assisting the Group Leaders and analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation
  • Comply with Enthalpy’s Quality Assurance Program and other policies
  • Comply with Enthalpy’s Health and Safety Plan
  • Other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director

 

YOUR EXPERTISE & SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Currently enrolled in a University program studying Chemistry, Environmental Science or similar degree
  • Proficient with Google and Microsoft office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
