
Undergraduate Cybersecurity Intern - Summer 2024 - Work Study or Regular Pay
As an undergraduate Cybersecurity intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting our organization’s information security efforts. You’ll gain hands-on experience and contribute to critical projects related to network security, business continuity, and disaster recovery. Here are the key responsibilities:

Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) Development:
- Collaborate with IT Services staff to create and implement a comprehensive COOP. This plan ensures that essential services continue during unexpected disruptions (such as natural disasters or cyber incidents).
- Participate in risk assessments, identify critical systems, and develop strategies for maintaining operations under adverse conditions.

Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Documentation:
- Work directly with Network Operations Center (NOC) staff to compile necessary documentation for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning.
- Assist in documenting processes, procedures, and recovery strategies.

Network Switch Replacement Project:
- Support the network team during network switch replacement or upgrades.
- Assist with pre- and post-replacement tasks, including inventory management, configuration backups, and testing.

Network Documentation:
- Collaborate with network engineers to maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation.
- Help document network architecture, configurations, and security controls.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate at UW-Whitewater in Cybersecurity, IT Security, IT Business Management, or a related field.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in information security.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
