
Career Development Graduate Assistant (0.25 FTE)
The Graduate Center is seeking a highly qualified graduate student for the Fall 2024 semester with the possibility for continued employment based on performance and available funding. The graduate assistant of career development will work closely with the Associate Director of Graduate Career Services to support graduate students and postdoctoral scholars.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with graduate students to help them develop their professional connections and LinkedIn profiles.
- Work with graduate students during Drop-In Hours and appointments to help with resumes, CVs, cover letters, and other career development needs as requested.
- Develop and revise career development content, resources, and tools for in-person and online delivery in collaboration with the Associate Director.
- Manage project reporting and data collection in Handshake, Qualtrics, and Excel.
- Facilitate career development workshops and presentations on an as-needed basis for campus partners.
- Work with the Associate Director to meet with and support graduate faculty and staff in their efforts to provide career support to their graduate students.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to further one’s own knowledge of best practices associated with the job and internship search process.
- Create engagement opportunities with alumni and employers and facilitate networking and informational events for graduate students.
- Manage time effectively and utilize online resources and technologies (D2L, Zoom, Outlook, Microsoft Suite, Handshake, etc.) to perform duties.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in graduate degree program at University of Arizona.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High level of professionalism
- Enrolled in a minimum of 6 units
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in
- Engaging diverse stakeholders
- Creating and facilitating networking and/or educational events
- Previous experience in career development at the University level
- Creating content for diverse audience across various mediums
- Facilitating learning for others in-person and online
- Identifying inefficiencies and creating innovative solutions to address needs
- Working with D2L
Approximate Hours Per Week:
- 0.25 FTE (10 hours/week); 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday
- Flexible work arrangements, upon request and approval of supervisor
- Graduate Center events occasionally take place after 5 PM or on weekends. Work schedules will be adjusted based on the work needed and the employee’s schedule.
Benefits:
- Compensation: This position is a .25 FTE Graduate Assistantship. Compensation for the Fall semester is $5,482.50.
- If a non-resident, tuition reduction to the equivalent of base in-state graduate tuition
