Geotechnical Drill Crew Summer Internship 3026118

Materials and Research Division, Bismarck, ND

NDDOT Pay: $18.72 / hour

Travel is required for this internship.

This is a temporary position with no paid benefits.*

All internships are paid full-time summer positions.

Summary of Work

This internship will provide quality experience with highway materials testing, geotechnical exploration, and field data collection. This internship will provide field experience in geotechnical engineering and exploration. This is a field position that will require out of town travel and overnights. Safety and personal protective equipment along with travel expense reimbursement will be covered by the agency.

Key Responsibilities include assisting with drilling operations for various projects, including linear soils surveys and deep foundation investigations, and assisting with landslide instrumentation installation and monitoring.

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Must be enrolled in an engineering technology or any engineering or geology undergraduate degree program.
  • Requires ability to lift and carry a total weight of up to 50 pounds.
  • Possession of a valid Class D Driver’s License for travel within the state of North Dakota.

 

Requires satisfactory completion of the interview process and a verifiable record of satisfactory performance in previous employment.
