Drive Clean Indiana is accepting applications for a paid Summer 2024 internship.
The Clean Cities University Workforce Development Program (CCUWDP) is an initiative of Clean Cities and communities, a government-industry partnership sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy's Vehicle Technologies Program.
Clean Cities and Communities strives to reduce petroleum consumption in the transportation sector in more than 75 regions across the country. Since the creation of the CCUWDP in 2010, Clean Cities has hosted more than 300 interns at more than 60 Coalitions. Past internships have led to permanent positions.
The Clean Cities and communities internship will give students the opportunity to grow public awareness and expand the markets of advanced vehicle technologies, alternative fuels and practices that reduce the consumption of petroleum. Students have participated in research, marketing, media relations, outreach activities, public education, K-12 outreach, fleet events and a vast array of transportation-related environmental projects.
The student will primarily be involved in marketing and public/media relations activities, including writing, proofreading and editing for various platforms and audiences. The student will be involved in discussions and meetings with high-level professionals and elected officials. To that end, Drive Clean Indiana seeks a candidate with strong skills in writing, editing, marketing, public relations, media relations/journalism and interpersonal skills.
Details:
- Exact start/end dates will be determined
- The internship runs 15-20 hours per week for 14 weeks
- Stipends range from $3,150 to $5,040 for the term of the internship, depending on academic classification and number of hours assigned by the coalition
- Students studying journalism, marketing or public relations are strongly preferred, with an emphasis placed on graduate students
- The candidate must be proficient in AP style, Word Press Website management and social media management as well as Microsoft Office, Office 365 and Excel
