Supply Chain Business Analyst

We have an immediate need for an experienced Supply Chain Business Analyst for our Waller, TX location. In this role, you will be a project leader responsible for multiple Procurement projects, working with cross-functional teams, to improve and execute procurement strategies. Supports the development and execution of procurement strategy playbooks. Will facilitate the strategic sourcing process through category analytics. Responsible for spend analytics, and multiple total cost of ownership (TCO) evaluations for assigned categories. Will develop project plans, and timelines to meet strategic sourcing initiatives.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Plan, collect and study collect data to determine macro and micro trends in the global supply chain (GSC).
  • Uses knowledge gained in research to develop strategies beneficial to meeting procurement objectives.
  • Interpret data on appropriate elements, such as availability, maintainability, reliability, supply chain management, strategic sourcing or distribution, supplier management, accuracy, integrity, fitness for purpose.
  • Prepare reports on logistics performance measures.
  • Assist in the preparation of total cost of ownership evaluations.
  • Works to align procurement strategies with various cross functional efforts, including design for manufacturability projects.
  • Maintain reports and metrics to determine alignment between procurement and cross functional teams.
  • Lead various projects simultaneously
  • Develop operational and financial models to influence strategic sourcing business decisions.
  • Procurement category analytics as required.
  • Confer with supply chain management teams to determine ways to optimize service levels, maintain supply-chain efficiency, improve quality, reduce waste, add/improve automation, improve traceability, improve information/data quality, or minimize cost.
  • Partner with GSC management to provide assistance in solving business problems.
  • Recommend improvements to existing or planned supply chain processes.
  • Participate in additional activities/projects to support the needs of the business.

  • Measured by execution of goals and objectives
  • Maintains regular communication with the Director of Procurement concerning purchasing activities
  • Strategic sourcing that is commercial in nature

Knowledge & Skills: 

  • Knowledge of Global Supply Chain Components and Characteristics
  • High attention to detail, advanced analytical, quantitative and creative problem solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Power Point, Word) & Understanding of ERP software
  • Effective organizational, time management and prioritization skills
  • Effective project management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including professional business acumen
  • Solid collaboration abilities; professional and diplomatic team builder
  • Ability to effectively interact and work on multiple projects with cross functional team including engineering, quality, materials, logistics, sales & marketing
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities
  • Ability to exercise good judgement, decision making skills and apply strong work ethics and integrity on the job

Experience: 

  • 0-2 years of experience preferably within a high volume environment including project management experience

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Finance/Economics, Operations, Engineering or related field
