Mechanical Engineer

Position Summary:  

Performs mechanical calculations and designs for mechanical systems for heavy industrial projects, such as mining and astronomical observatories, as well as commercial projects.

Basic Duties:

• 4 years progressive experience 

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field

• Responsibilities include design of HVAC plumbing and dust collection systems, along with other mechanical design systems for commercial and industrial projects. 

• Produce design drawings, the position requires specification writing/editing abilities, preparation of equipment bid packages, shop drawings/submittal review, vendor drawing reviews, and report writing. Emphasis is on drawing production. 

• Interdisciplinary coordination and QA/QC of work products. 

• Interaction and coordinate with clients, vendors, co-workers, other disciplines, and departments as necessary to coordinate and effectively communicate project design goals, needs, and overall status. 

• Must have experience with a variety of project types, sizes, and complexities. 

• Working knowledge and experience using AutoCAD, 3D modeling such as Revit, and MS office.

• Candidate must be able to travel from time to time, domestically & internationally, to other M3 offices and project sites to provide field support for new and ongoing projects.

• Must be able to work in a project team and maintain a project schedule, be a self-starter, detail-oriented and have exceptional organizational skills.

• Must be able to interact with clients and co-workers in a professional and respectful manner and work in a team environment sharing roles and responsibilities, with limited supervision.

Desired Qualifications:

• PE License

• Previous commercial HVAC and plumbing experience

• Experience as a discipline lead for multidisciplinary design and construction projects. 

• Bilingual English / Spanish abilities
