Intern Trainee - GIS Technician Trainee
The primary purpose of this position will be assisting with special GIS projects in the Public Works Department, which will include, but are not limited to:
- Building and editing GIS Databases
- Creating and managing outline and mobile maps and applications
- Collecting field data
- Creating maps for printing
Additional Information:
- Internships generally run for 3 calendar months between June and August 2024.
- 37.5 hours per week.
- The workday is from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- The successful applicant will be required to pass a physical, drug test and background check.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Pass/Fail):
- Applicants must be a Junior, Senior or Graduate student in Geographical Information Systems (GIS), geography, computer science, information technology, or related field of study (all degrees must include course work in GIS); OR, must have graduated from a related four-year degree program within the last six months.
- Applicant must have a completed a minimum of one year of GIS or related studies in a GIS system program.
- Possession of a valid driver's license
