Description:
Baxter offers a robust summer internship program based in the Hayward, CA area that provides meaningful work assignments and projects that immerse students in Baxter’s culture designed to provide practical work experience highlighting what an individual would do in a similar full-time role with the ability to make a business impact. You'll be paired with a mentor, receive support from your manager, and have access to the entire Baxter employee community to ensure your success.
Baxter’s Advanced surgery team provides lifesaving products focused on wound hemostasis and sealing as well as other specialty surgical procedures. We are focused on ways to improve these products to simplify workflow in the operating room or optimization of the manufacturing process. This internship will be specifically designed to leverage innovative thinking for design or process optimization solutions that may drive further development programs.
Responsibilities:
- Perform standard analytical testing assignments under defined methods, techniques, theories, corporate and division Standard Operating Policies
- Select sound techniques to solve problems and make design recommendations under direction of mentor.
- Make recommendations for design or process improvements based on technical knowledge
Requirements:
Baxter is targeting students with proven academic performance and leadership potential. Ideal candidates will combine technical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry or related degree.
- GPA of 3.0 or above
- Required knowledge and application of analytical chemistry
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and problem-solving skills
- Positive attitude, team-oriented, adaptive to change, and collaborative
- Actively involved in campus or community activities and organizations, preferably in leadership roles
