Internship Opportunity, SAP Support/Data Analysis - Denver

Applications will be considered from residents and non-residents of Colorado. 

 

If selected, you must be able to physically work in our Denver office. 

 

 

  • This is a temporary position that is limited to a maximum of 9 months, with no benefits other than sick leave. Temporary employees accrue one hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked, capped at 48 hours. 
  • Applications will be reviewed as they are received. It’s in your best interest to apply as early as possible.
  • This position is not covered by the Partnership Agreement between the State of Colorado and Colorado Workers for Innovative and New Solutions (COWins). 
  • New employees to the State will be paid biweekly. There are 26 biweekly pay periods in a year.

Description of Job

About the Work Unit
Thie Business Technology Branch exists to support fiscal and strategic functions of the Division of Accounting and Finance and to meet and exceed its goals and objectives by leveraging efficient and analytic use of CDOT’s technologies and systems. Through implementing best business practices, standard functionality and utilization of report tool sets.

About the Position
The purpose of this internship will be to provide meaningful professional training and experience while assisting Business Technology staff in the performance of duties related to SAP support, data analysis, report writing, requirements gathering for enhancements to SAP and new report development.  Work on data analysis activities by going through large data sets, looking for patterns and finding ways to join and get at data from different sources.

This position will assist by meeting with customers to get detailed business requirements, flush out details on reports, and fine tune their business needs.  Work with technical team to sift through data, test reports to ensure they meet customer needs, and run scripts in quality.
 
Work Environment: 

  • This position is based at CDOT’s Headquarters located at 2829 W. Howard Pl, Denver, CO.
  • The expected work schedule is Monday through Friday, 24 hours per week for up to 10 weeks total.
  • Interns will agree to a hybrid remote/in-office work arrangement with their supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications
 

  • A student enrolled in an accredited college or university as an undergraduate or graduate student seeking a degree in business analytics, computer science, information technology, statistics, or another field of study closely related to the duties of this position. Applicants must present a copy of their transcript to verify this requirement.

OR

 

  • A recent college graduate with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business analytics, computer science, information technology, statistics or another field of study closely related to the duties of this position. Applicants must present a copy of their transcript to verify this requirement.

OR

 

  • A certified participant in the Colorado Refugee Services Program


College Transcripts: If you are using education to qualify, a legible copy of your official or unofficial college transcript(s) or a foreign credential evaluation report must be submitted with your application. Transcripts must show the name of the school and that a degree was conferred. Transcripts from colleges or universities outside of the United States must be assessed for U.S. equivalency by a NACES educational credential evaluation service.
