Postdoctoral Associate Positions ENIGMA Addiction

The ENIGMA-Addiction consortium is currently accepting applications for 2 post-doctoral associates These positions are renewable for up to 3 years.  Stipends start from approx. $61,008, depending on previous post-doctoral experience.

The ENIGMA consortium (http://enigma.ini.usc.edu/) was established to investigate brain structure, function, and disease by combining genomic and neuroimaging datasets from multiple sites. Its goal is to maximize statistical power and the yield from existing datasets through very large data pooling efforts.  ENIGMA-Addiction (https://www.enigmaaddictionconsortium.com/) aims to identify robust multi-modal brain markers of dependence, and to examine genetic and brain markers for the transition between stages of substance use across the lifespan, to examine the role of mental health comorbidities, sex differences, and so on.  

Selected candidates will be based in the University of Vermont Department of Psychiatry and will join a vibrant neuroimaging research community.  We are a data collection site for both the ABCD (https://abcdstudy.org/) and HBCD (https://hbcdstudy.org/) studies, incorporate many other large datasets in our analyses, and have expertise in “big data” and machine learning methodologies.  The post-doctoral associates will have the opportunity to participate in activities of the Vermont Complex Systems Center, and will have supercomputing capability through the Vermont Advanced Computing Core. Candidates must have completed doctoral training in psychology, neuroscience, bioinformatics, or a related discipline, and have a record of research in genetics or neuroimaging.  Programming experience (MATLAB, Python, R, etc.) will be highly valuable, but is not a prerequisite.  

These post-doctoral positions offer a unique and exciting opportunity to analyze a one-of-a-kind large and rich dataset and produce important new insights into the neural and genetic basis of addiction. As a post-doctoral researcher, the candidate will have flexibility in designing their own projects.
