Associate Vendor Relations Manager

The Associate Vendor Relations Manager will oversee and manage a portfolio of National Branded suppliers to drive incremental value and operational efficiencies.  This person will also serve as the primary liaison between the supplier and Medline.

 

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Vendor Relations Manager to ensure vendor issues are communicated and resolved.
  • Build collaborative partnerships with suppliers.
  • Assists Vendor Relations Manager with addressing day to day issues including vendor backorders, product discontinuation, new product additions, sub requests, price increase, credit issues, etc.
  • Assists with developing and implementing programs to deliver value and drive operational efficiencies for the division.
  • Communicate and maintain supplier scorecards and manage supplier relationships towards achieving top level performance.
  • Perform as the escalation point for all functional areas in the Kitting Products division working with the supplier to problem solve and mediate through challenges and opportunities as they arise.
  • Work closely with vendor, quality, marketing and inventory control.
  • Respond to suppliers related questions or issues for quick resolution.
  • Assist Vendor Relations Manager in conducting a category analysis to identify areas of opportunity for supplier consolidation and partnership.
  • Plan and attend business reviews with vendors, healthcare industry, and trade show events.

 

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in a Business related major with analytical focus preferred (Supply Chain, Analytics, Finance)

·        Experience negotiating with outside vendors, including negotiating contracts, prices, resolving service issues and/or reconciling differences preferred

·        Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling)

·        Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).

·        Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).

·        Healthcare industry experience preferred but not required.

·        Unrestricted permanent US work authorization
