Electrical Engineer

Looking for an energetic, self-motivated, and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our team in power, industrial, mining, metals and petrochemical engineering/design. This position will perform and be responsible for electrical power design of assigned projects, can apply sound engineering principles and practices in project design, and make decisions independently on engineering problems and methods. Position requires the use of electrical theory and practices in the field.

Duties:

  • Assigned specific projects to complete, eventually working as a fully competent engineer in all aspects of the project.
  • Perform electrical calculations such as load calcs, light levels, short circuit study, protective device coordination, Arc-Flash study, load flow, voltage drop, one line diagram development and protective relaying.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and review work of designers and drafters on assigned work.
  • Performs studies, preparation of construction specifications, preparation of equipment specifications, evaluation of proposals, and development of estimates.
  • Provides recommendations for purchase of electrical system components.
  • Reviews electrical design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, code requirements (NEC, NESC, etc.) and related specifications.
  • Reviews manufacturers’ prints and coordinates between these and project drawings.
  • Familiar with testing procedures and standards applicable to associated industrial electrical systems and equipment (i.e. NETA, etc.).
  • Provide supervision and verification for check-out, start-up, and tests of new or retrofitted electrical systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from accredited institution.
  • Must be US citizen.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Willing to travel to remote field locations, up to 10% of time.
