Nonprofit Volunteer/Program Intern
As a Nonprofit Volunteer/Program Intern You Will support the day–to-day activities of hosting a Girls on the Run season, including communications, operational efforts and community relations.
- Assist in the execution of a full season of Girls on the run - from season preparation and implementation through wrap-up. This will include season material preparation and distribution, data entry work, as well as tasks related to coach training, coach appreciation and the celebratory 5K.
- Take ownership of volunteer recruitment processes, with direction from Program Manager.
- Conduct site visits to Girls on the Run sites to ensure consistency of program implementation across the territory.
- Serve as a coach or substitute coach as needed
- Represent Girls on the Run of Eastern Iowa at community events as needed.
As a GOTR Intern, You Are:
- A believer in the mission and values of Girls on The Run.
- Tech savvy, including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Social Media Platforms
- Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexible, adaptable, dependable and personable
This Position Requires
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds
- Availability at least 10 hours/week with availability at least two afternoons
- A mixture of both remote and in-office work
- Ability to travel to program sites in Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, or Cedar Valley using a personal vehicle.
- Strong organizational and critical thinking skills
Compensation and Course Credit
- This role offers a stipend of $750, paid in increments of $250 at the end of each term (summer, fall, spring).
- We are able to work with students seeking course credit, if applicable.
Note: This position is intended as a year-round experience, running June 3, 2024-May 30, 2025, though single term engagements will be considered.
