Position Title: QA Intern

As a Quality Intern at Roskam Foods, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and fast-paced food manufacturing environment. Under the guidance of our experienced Quality team and Supervisor, Amanda Kaiser-Velazquez, you will be involved in various projects and tasks aimed at ensuring the quality and safety of our products.
Primary Responsibilities:
Project-Based Work: You will be assigned to specific projects aimed at enhancing quality control processes, improving food safety measures, and optimizing product quality. Projects may include but are not limited to:
- Conducting sensory evaluations and product testing to assess quality attributes.
- Assisting in the implementation of new quality management systems or procedures.
- Analyzing data and generating reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Participating in root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives for quality-related issues.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Training: Assisting in the development and delivery of training programs related to quality assurance and food safety for production staff.
Lab Support: Providing support to the Quality Control Lab by assisting with sample preparation, testing, and analysis.
Sanitation: Participating in sanitation inspections and audits to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained in the production facility.
Redzone Program Support: Contributing to the implementation and monitoring of the Redzone Program, which focuses on identifying and addressing critical quality issues in real-time.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Food Science, or a related scientific field.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and quality management systems is preferred but not required.
