Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist - SHN

The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare is seeking a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist to join our State Hospital North Team. This position will provide case management, groups, recovery based interventions and clinical support services. This position will include working within a multidisciplinary team and collaboration with system partners. Responsibilities also include: coordination of mental health treatment recommended by the Adult Mental Health clinician, drafting court reports and treatment plans as well as completing risk assessments, and safety plans.

When a position becomes available, the hiring supervisor will then directly contact those applicants they wish to interview off the referral list.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

  • Support Clinicians with crisis intervention, assessment, triage, safety planning, and linkage to community resources.
  • Provide case management services for adults experiencing symptoms of a mental illness.
  • Interact with clients and families.
  • Facilitate recovery oriented groups.
  • Support patient skill building through psychoeducation and interactive teaching methods.
  • Assist patients in applying for and accessing entitlements.
  • Transport patients to appointments, as needed.
  • Document, address and follow up on patient concerns.
  • Work in collaboration with treatment team to enhance effective service coordination. 
     

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. It is highly recommended to attach a one-page cover letter to your application to demonstrate how you meet the requirements below.

  • Good knowledge of human services principles and practices to include: behavioral management methods, social and family systems, human growth and development, case management methods. Typically gained by a Bachelor's degree in social work, behavioral science, education, or healthcare from a nationally accredited university or college. Must have included at least 21 semester credit hours in human services fields such as psychology, social work, special education, counseling, and psychosocial rehabilitation.
  • Computer literacy for data entry, electronic mail, composing reports and letters, and storing and retrieving documents.
  • A valid driver's license.
