Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a self-motivated Audit Specialist to work in the Internal Audit Office in Olympia, WA. Working in the Agreement Compliance Audit Services branch of the office, this position conducts risk-based audits of costs paid under WSDOT agreements with Architecture and Engineering (A&E) firms. The position also reviews A&E firm indirect cost rates for compliance with federal regulations.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong work ethic, the ability to convey information in a clear, concise manner, and will be dedicated to continually learning and progressing as an audit specialist. This role supports WSDOT’s mission by bringing an independent and objective approach to evaluate and improve effectiveness of risk management, control, internal governance processes, and adherence to laws, rules, and regulations. The Internal Audit Office follows the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
