LTOCE: Student Assistant - Career Center - Federal Work Study Summer 2024

The applicant must qualify for Federal Work Study. To find out eligibility contact Financial Aid. Also must be availabel to work this summer quarter. 

Morning availability preferred. 

Timeliness and customer service are the most important skills for this position. 

Job Responsibilities:

General Clerical Duties - Answering the telephone, filing, typing, on-campus errands, mail (picking up mail and sending out mail/distribution), assisting with Career Center special events.

The Career Center hosts multiple Career Days each quarter. 

Office management - Organization and light cleaning of the office, filing, taking and processing payments, etc

Reception - Greeting students, employers, and all other stake holders who enter the office.

Individual Assignments - We encourage students to do projects they are interested in. These projects are sometimes self guided and fill a need that they themselves identify within the office. These responsibilities may be shared with other student assistants or strictly an individual responsibility.

•Students must be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible for student employment. Half time enrollment is defined as 4 hours for undergraduates or 3 hours for graduates. Students who drop below half-time will no longer be eligible for student employment and must cease working.

•Students must have an overall GPA of 2.0 for undergraduates and a 3.0 for graduates during their employment. First time freshmen must have an ACT Composite score of 20 or higher at time of employment.

•Students may work a maximum of 20 hours a work week, and are not allowed to work during scheduled class times.

•Student workers will be allowed to hold only one job at a time during an academic year (ex: FWS, Graduate Assistantship, Regular Funds)

New student workers must have valid identification documents (non-expired passport or driver’s license and social security card)

•International students must have a current passport, I-94, and social security card
