Reprographics Apprentice (County Services Worker I)

Marin County Printing Services is a full-service facility with state-of-the-art digital technology. If you can dream it, we can print it, from vehicle graphics and outdoor signage to business cards, volume mailing, and braille. ABOUT THE POSITION

The Department of Public Works Printing Services Division is currently recruiting for one (1) full-time temporary/contingent Reprographics Apprentice. The position is located on-site at the Marin County Civic Center in San Rafael, CA.

The Reprographics Apprentice is a great opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in the field of digital art technology by working on small multi-colored offset presses and high-speed copiers and printers related to the printing and wide format reproduction of a variety of County records and documents. This position receives hands-on training in the technical and safe operations of reprographics equipment and assists Reprographics Technicians with higher level technical jobs such as:

 

  • Assisting users with submitting job requisitions using the online WEBCRD print management application system.
  • Providing support in all aspects of the production schedule including interacting with users, cross-training in various department functions, setting priorities, tracking progress and resolving schedule conflicts and problems.
  • Participating in the ongoing administrative aspects including deliveries, paper organization, clean up, and stocking.

 

ABOUT YOU

Our Highly Qualified Candidate has a printing or graphic arts background who is eager to learn a broad range of reprographics, printing equipment and basic graphics duties. We are looking for someone who is customer and results focused and can establish effective collaborative relationships while working in a fast-paced environment with others, while maintaining safety.   

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience and/or specialized training that would provide the knowledge and abilities needed for the role of Reprographics Apprentice. Candidate must be able to lift 50 pounds. 

Certificates and Licenses
This position is required to travel between various County and business-related locations. Employees who drive on County business to carry out job-related duties must possess a valid California driver's license for the class vehicle driven and must meet automobile insurability requirements of the County.

Disaster Service Workers: All County of Marin employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law (California Government Code Section 3100-3109). Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
