The Vice President for International Affairs and the teams of staff in OVPIA's offices are the stewards of international activity across all campuses of Indiana University. We provide strategic leadership and advocacy for all international programs and projects and coordinate the resources necessary to sustain their growth. Our goal is to enable as many students, faculty, and staff as possible to pursue international and intercultural knowledge and experiences and to become engaged global citizens.

Job Summary

 

This position will provide support for graphic design projects for the Office of the Vice President for International Affairs (OVPIA) and will work in collaboration with the central Marketing and Communications team to tell the story of OVPIA's programs and services via digital and print content across multiple platforms across all of IU's campuses.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Designs the layout and format for digital and print graphic design content, including selection of colors, images, fonts, logos, and placement, for various marketing and communications needs, audiences, and platforms.
  • Creates images, graphic elements, illustrations, and other visual content using a variety of graphic software, including Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Creates themed templates and images for general university use that align with IU brand guidelines.
  • In consultation with project managers, and/or other key stakeholders, defines printing specifications, refines graphic design project elements, and may work with vendors to quote and/or order large printed design projects.
  • Works may include additional duties in support of other functions or administrative needs.

EDUCATION

Required

  • Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Graphic design experience

Preferred

  • Experience with Graphic Design using Adobe Creative Suite

Working Conditions / Demands

 

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Work Location

 

Bloomington or Indianapolis, Indiana

This position will work a hybrid schedule, (mix between remote or in-person work) depending upon the work needs of the department and is subject to change based on university policy and business needs.

When in-person they will work from the newly constructed Ferguson International Center and occasionally off-site for the attendance of various events.

Advertised Salary

 

$16.00-$20.00 per hour dependent upon qualifications
