Position Title: Walker Box Office Ticket Ambassador

Department/ Office: IUI Division of Finance and Administration- Event and Conference Services

Hourly Wage: $15

Average Hours/ Week: 5-10 hours/ week

 

About the Walker Theatre: 

An integral part of the Indianapolis community, the Madam Walker Legacy Center is dedicated to preserving the legacy of Madam CJ Walker by providing cultural education, promoting social justice, supporting entrepreneurship and empowering youth to become the next generation of entrepreneurs and civic leaders. As the last surviving iconic building on Indiana Avenue, the Madam Walker Legacy Center is a significant piece of the nation’s history and is listed on the register of National Historic Landmarks.

Position Overview/ Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for selling tickets through the Ticketmaster (TM) software system either onsite the day of event, or to assist customers via the phone with their online questions while they are trying to purchase or locate events in TM.com. 

Qualifications:

  • Candidates need to pass Cash Handling and Credit Card Trainings through Indiana University.
  • Candidates will be required to learn the TM database.
  • Must be willing to learn the TM system and be dependable for shifts that are given.
  • Candidates will work 5-10 hours per week in the Walker Box Office and on various weekend day of event(s). 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: 

Applicants must: 

  • Be dependable and responsible for scheduled shifts and assigned duties
  • Have the ability to communicate with others in order to answer questions and provide assistance when needed 
  • Be comfortable answer the phone to provide customer service
