5957 - Recreation Aide (Ellie Towne Flowing Wells Community Center)

Hiring Range: $15.75 - $18.51 Per Hour
Full Range: $15.75 - $21.26 Per Hour

Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification.     
 
This intermittent position with rotating days, shifts, and weekends, is located at Ellie Towne Flowing Wells Community Center, 1660 West Ruthrauff Road, 85705.

 

Duties/Responsibilities

 

(Work assignments may vary depending on the department's needs and will be communicated to the applicant or incumbent by the supervisor.)

 

Assists in overseeing any one of a number of recreation activities, such as sports, dance, twirling, crafts and table games;

Assists in operation of leagues, tournaments, meets, and the daily programmed activities;

Interprets and explains game rules and referees and umpires ball games;

Keeps recreation facility in a clean and orderly condition;

Issues receipts;

Prepares cash reports;

Gives information to the public regarding recreation facilities and programs;

Shows movies;

Maintains projection equipment;

Tells or reads stories to children;

Maintains attendance and other records and prepares reports.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of training and experience which demonstrates the minimum knowledge and skills.

  1. Experience working with children and/or adults in a recreation, social services, or educational setting.
  2. Experience with/knowledge of arts and crafts.
  3. Experience with/knowledge of sports, playground, and/or group games.

Selection Procedure
Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum/desired qualifications. All applications will be assessed based on an evaluation of the listed education and experience. Candidates meeting the minimum/desired qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a referral list provided by Human Resources. Additional assessments/testing may be required as part of the selection process
