Operations Intern (Summer)

Skyway Theatre, a prominent concert venue in downtown Minneapolis, is now accepting internships for college students for Summer of 2023! We will train you on what it takes to operate a large-scale, multi-venue complex as well as introduce you to many different functions of business management.
This position has an opportunity for an extended role with the company following successful completion of the internship.
Scheduling Details Below are VERY Flexible! We are able to work around your schedule and find times that work for you!
-Must be able to Work Multiple Week Days in Box Office (Paid after 16 Hours) (M-F) (10AM-6PM)
-Must be able to Work Weekend Evening Shifts (Paid) when needed

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
· Must be pursuing a degree in one of the following areas: finance, business administration/management, marketing/advertising/promotions, communications, PR, event planning, graphic/web design, IT, hospitality, HR, audio engineering, sound/lighting production, business operations, management, entrepreneurship, journalism/creative writing. Will consider other fields of study on a case-by-case basis.
· Must live locally within a reasonable distance to the venue or be able to throughout the internship
· Minimum 3.00 GPA
· Must be receiving college credit for the internship
· Must be able to commit to 10-20 hours per week for the Summer of 2023
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
· Web-savvy and avid users of social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik-Tok, WordPress, etc.)
· Must be able to learn new skills quickly
· Must be organized, able to meet deadlines and be a self-starter.
· Having strong attention to detail is paramount in this role
RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Various projects and tasks utilizing Microsoft office suite
- Answering office phone calls, checking voicemails and emails, and responding to customer service concerns
- Ad Hoc office administration tasks (testing radio quality, preparing for the upcoming shows, creating signage)
- Receiving mail, packages, and inventory deliveries
- Overseeing lost and found system and return of items
- Selling tickets in person via our ticketing provider.
- Assist with business development tasks
- Identifying and engaging with potential customers online
- Other tasks will vary, depending on the intern’s unique skill set and needs from management. There will be opportunities to get involved in the marketing and production sides of the business as well.
