Cybertrol Engineering, a growing and dynamic industrial automation engineering firm, is seeking an entry-level engineering professional for an Automation Engineer role. This position is a great opportunity that combines “hands-on” engineering skills along with customer relationships to achieve superior results that consistently exceed customer expectations.
Cybertrol Engineering is a control and information systems integrator that creates and delivers custom-engineered solutions to industrial customers throughout the upper Midwest and across North America. Cybertrol Engineering’s solutions include control systems (PLC/HMI, DCS, SCADA), manufacturing intelligence and MES information systems, industrial IT/OT (Information Technology) infrastructure; hardware design/CAD, industrial control panels, and on-going support. The firm is privately owned, headquartered in Minneapolis, has offices in Madison and Marshfield, WI, and has remote employees across the US. Job Responsibilities
In this role, you will be directly responsible for developing and implementing PLC/HMI, DCS, SCADA code, including simulation for testing software and on-site I/O checkout and commissioning at customer sites.
You will also partner with a team of Manufacturing Intelligence, Hardware design, and Industrial IT professionals to deliver comprehensive systems. During these projects, you will become a trusted consultant for Cybertrol’s customers.
Some examples of specific Automation Engineer responsibilities include:
- Engage directly with the customer and other engineering firms involved to develop a complete understanding of the requirements and create a Functional Specification of the full deliverable.
- Maintain customer contact throughout the life of the project.
- Develop software in a team environment in a modern software framework utilizing an Agile Scrum development processes.
- Ensure that quality processes have been followed.
- Work independently as required to deliver solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring as required, including system-level thinking and problem-solving techniques.
- I/O Checkout on-site of industrial control equipment; instrumentation, pneumatics, and 3-phase motors.
- Working with multiple disciplines and trades during on-site commissioning of projects.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Engineering (Electrical and/or Computer, Mechanical, or Chemical) or a related engineering field from an ABET-accredited school.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Curiosity and agility in problem solving when presented with a new challenge.
- Passionate when given a challenge to see it through.
- Willingness to help and service mentality interacting with customers and internal teams.
- Goal oriented with the strong desire to learn new technologies and concepts
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
