24-02284 Revenue Branch Manager

The Office of Registration and Operations, has an opening for a Revenue Branch Manager. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to provide leadership and guidance to employees within the Electronic Commerce Branch.

As a Revenue Branch Manager for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, you will provide supervisory direction and training needed for your staff to process all electronically filed individual and corporate tax returns as well as oversee electronic funds transfers.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Directs, coordinates, and monitors all activities of the Electronic Commerce Branch, including efficient processing of over 1.9 million electronically filed Individual Income tax returns, implementation and additions of electronically filed Corporate income tax returns, and electronic funds transfers
  • Attends meetings and provides valuable input
  • Plans, assigns, supervises, and reviews the work of the employees within the branch
  • Manages personnel functions in the branch to include mid-year and annual performance evaluations, monitors schedules and attendance, coaches and encourages staff to achieve their potential, and uses personnel system to address staff problems and issues
  • Ensures the safety and confidentiality of taxpayer information, data, and records
  • Works with other areas within the Division when necessary
  • Performs special tasks, assignments, or serves on committees
  • Performs other duties as required

Additional/Supplemental information:

  • Required to successfully complete a background investigation including an FBI criminal history record check (fingerprint check).
  • Required to comply with all tax laws
  • Mostly at a desk using a computer and telephone
  • Some travel for training and education
  • Opportunities for flexible work schedules

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

 

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Five years of experience in the processing, administration, preparation, or auditing of taxes or related tax information.

 

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Graduate study will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

 

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Professional experience in the processing, administration, preparation, or auditing of taxes or related tax information will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions

Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
