An internship role in our practice provides the opportunity to sharpen your communication, analytical, business skills, and gain ESSENTIAL WORK ENVIRONMENT EXPERIENCE, while working as part of a team committed to developing executable strategy and implementing meaningful solutions for clients.

REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNSHIP

a.    Familiarity and/or certification with Quickbooks Pro or Quickbooks Online

Description ESSENTIAL DUTIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

▪ Monthly bookkeeping and bank reconciliations

▪ Training in expense management

▪ Training in maintenance of department records and files

▪ Training in accounts payable duties

Internship Overview 

1. The internship, even though it includes actual operation of the facilities of the Firm, is similar training which would be given in an educational environment; including the clinical and other hands on training provided by educational institutions. 

2. The internship experience is for the benefit of the intern; and can be tied to the intern’s formal education program by integrated coursework or the receipt of academic credit. The internship corresponds to the Intern’s academic calendar.

3. The internship’s duration is limited to the period in which the internship provides the intern with beneficial learning.

4. The intern does not displace regular employees, but works under close supervision of existing staff; 

5. The employer that provides the training derives no immediate advantage from the activities of the intern; and on occasion its operations may actually be impeded; 

6. The intern is not necessarily entitled to a job at the conclusion of the internship; and 

7. The employer and the intern understand that the intern is not entitled to wages for the time spent in the internship and the intern clearly understand that there is no expectation of compensation

Learning Outcomes: 

·   The student will learn and perform Monthly bookkeeping and bank reconciliations, expense management, maintenance of department records and files, accounts payable duties that will enable them to cross the platform from class theory to real world practical application. 

 

·   The student will employ critical thinking skills to analyze financial data as well as the effects of differing financial accounting methods. 

 

·   The student will be able to apply and test knowledge learned at their University to the workplace. 

 

·   The student will be able to analyze financial and banking date and eventually effectively define the needs of the various users of accounting data and demonstrate the ability to communicate such data effectively to the users, as well as the accountant overseeing the data 

 

·   The Student will learn the business interaction between client and accountant for bookkeeping, accounting, and tax purposes. 

·   The Student will gain CONFIDENCE in their ability to make appropriate business judgments in connection with bookkeeping and accounting matters that will assist them in their future career endeavors. 

 Onsite mentor will be Joseph A. Spiriti Jr., Esq., a Florida Licensed Attorney since 1988 with career emphasis on business and transactional endeavors. Additionally, overseeing from an accounting perspective will be Richard English, CPA. Finally, overseeing day to day internship activities will be Ebby Olea, former intern, and current supervising administrative assistant. 

Duration of the internship- 240 hours 

Letter of Recommendation, Evaluation, and future internship verification available only after full completion of the required internship hours as per intern's oath of commitment.
