Junior Accountant

 PURPOSE:

The Junior Accountant ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Assists in maintaining financial records and ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

· Assists with all financial operations.

· Compiles weekly and monthly financial statements and reports.

· Assists and analyzes balance sheet and income statements.

· Makes journal entries as needed.

· Assists in month end close and year end closing process.

· Does monthly bank reconciliations.

· Uses financial software and supporting programs such as Excel, etc.

· Collaborates with other members of the finance team.

· Follows all company policies and procedures.

· Adheres to finance laws and regulations.

· Is responsible to assist in filings with all regulatory agencies.

· Obeys all federal, state and local laws.

· Performs other duties as assigned by the Finance Administrator.

 

Requirements

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

· Works in a well-lighted, temperature-controlled office area.

· Physical exertion required no more than 20% of the time.

· Must be experienced in General Ledger Accounting.

· Must have knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

· Demonstrates strong technical skills.

· Works well independently and has adept organization and time-management skills.

· Minimal exposure to infectious diseases.

· Good communication skills both verbal and written with ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.

· Posses’ good organizational ability and strong interpersonal skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field

Licensure/ Certification: None required

Experience: Requires 0-2 years of experience
