MMT - Loan Closer

D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an MMT-Loan Closer in the Closing Department. After a mortgage loan is approved, the Mortgage Loan Closer reviews all submitted data and paperwork then prepares closing documents, such as the final closing disclosures and estimated settlement statements. Once the paperwork is ready, the Loan Closer will forward the documents to all involved parties, including the borrowers, agents, escrow, title and confirm the accuracy of the submitted data. Loan Closers collaborate closely with the agents and borrowers to ensure the wire requests and funding information are completed promptly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for closing all mortgage loans assigned in a timely manner
  • Review closing documents: Pre-closing requirements such as contracts, hazard insurance, flood certifications, and Mortgage Insurance certifications
  • Input required closing data in Empower
  • Balance escrow check to Closing Disclosure and Initial Escrow
  • Assist in completing physical file for bond loans as needed
  • Deliver bond loans to Secondary Marketing
  • Prepare and ship banking file to warehouse bank
  • Sign off on conditions as needed
  • Assist Post Closing with follow-up or suspense items
  • Draw and release closing documents to the title company
  • Review pre-audit and closing conditions and clear all closing conditions and then authorize the funding of the loan
  • Review all completed and signed closing documents
  • File physical files as needed
  • Purge files as needed
  • Mail initial CD’s as needed
  • Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company

 

 

Qualifications

 

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, earned within two years, from four-year college or university
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
  • Proficiency with MS Office and email

Preferred Qualifications

  • One to two years related experience and/or training preferred
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to multi-task and attention to detail
