Forestar Group Inc. is a residential and real estate development company and a majority-owned subsidiary of D.R. Horton, Inc., the largest homebuilder by volume in the United States for sixteen consecutive years.
Forestar Group is currently looking for an Administrative Assistant - FG. The right candidate will provide general administrative duties for the designated office and team. This includes providing administrative support to executive and senior management level personnel, processing payables for the office and team, and ensuring that the office operates efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provide general clerical assistance and assist with maintaining files and databases
- Prepare presentations, special reports, memorandums, proposals and correspondence as needed
- Receive office invoices and process them for approval and payment.
- Coordinate management approvals as needed.
- Schedule appointments and meetings for supported staff
- Make travel arrangements and prepare expense reports for senior and executive level management
- Administer office wide communication and coordination of office events
- Monitor office equipment and supplies and replenish as needed
- Responsible for reception and telephone duties, including assisting guests and signing for packages
- Manage mail distribution
- May be responsible for coordinating maintenance of the facility with Building Management
- May be responsible for coordinating maintenance of office equipment with IS&T and 3rd Party Service Contractors
- Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
- Ability to work overtime
- Ability to travel overnight
Qualifications - External
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One to two years of related experience and/or training
- Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via FOR applications
- Proficiency with MS Office and email
- Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision
- The noise level is generally moderate
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable with multi-tasking and working in a demanding environment
