TEAChStrong Exceptional Student Education Academy 2024

TEAChStrong Exceptional Student Education (ESE) 2024

 

Miami-Dade County Public Schools is currently accepting applications for the TEACh Strong ESE Summer Academy.

 

Purpose

To prepare and equip participants to support the learning needs of students with disabilities and ensure their educational, behavioral, social, and emotional successes. 

Overview

  • Participate in an intensive five-week summer training (June 21 - July 26, 2024), consisting of a comprehensive professional development curriculum, immersive classroom experiences, and mentorship.
  • Receive a $3,000 stipend in two (2) installments. Final payment issued after completion of the program.
  • Hire into full-time ESE teaching positions with the district upon meeting all Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) pre-employment requirements. 

Minimum requirements:

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree
  • Eligibility in a core subject area based on degree major OR evidence of a passing score on the ESE K-12 Subject Area Exam (SAE).
  • Completion of M-DCPS TEACh Strong ESE application
  • Commitment to the entire five-weeks summer training.
  • Commitment to teach in M-DCPS as an ESE teacher.
  • Commitment to pass the ESE K-12 SAE
  • Commitment to apply to the Florida Department of Education before full-time hire - not required for acceptance into the program.
  • Applicants cannot have prior experience as a full-time teacher in a K-12 classroom.
