Photographer/Videographer Internship

As an intern at Drive Social Media, you'll embark on a transformative journey within a collaborative and rapidly expanding advertising agency. Over the course of this structured 10-12 week program, you'll delve into meaningful projects under industry experts' guidance, fostering personal and professional growth. The internship offers a holistic learning experience, providing opportunities to gain insights into Drive Social Media's business operations, refine presentation skills, master business analysis, hone problem-solving abilities, and appreciate the pivotal role of customer service in a dynamic environment. Alongside hands-on experience, interns will participate in roundtable discussions covering diverse business and leadership topics, engage in professional development activities, benefit from mentorship, and culminate their experience with a final presentation to Drive's leadership team.

THIS IS A DUAL PURPOSE ROLE. Applicants must be knowledgable in BOTH videography and photography.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal partners to brainstorm content ideas that align with campaign goals, target audiences, and brand identity.
  • Capture engaging photos and videos aligned with brand messaging and client objectives.
  • Utilize a variety of camera equipment and lighting techniques to achieve professional-grade results.
  • Ideate, conceptualize, and coordinate concepts with internal partners.
  • Edit photos and videos using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) to ensure a cohesive visual style.
  • Completion of a capstone project.
  • Maintain and organize equipment to ensure its proper functioning and availability.
  • Stay current with the latest social media trends and visual content best practices.
  • Respond to feedback in a timely manner and work within tight deadlines. 

Requirements

  • Candidates must be able and available to work part-time during the duration of the program: June 3, 2024 through August 9, 2024 at our St. Louis, MO location on a flexible schedule. Schedules will be created on a week to week basis to accommodate ideal learning opportunities.
  • Currently enrolled as a rising Junior or Senior in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited university – in a photography, videography, or related program.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (preferred)
  • Proficient in photography and videography techniques
  • Knowledge of photo and video editing software
  • Strong creative vision and attention to detail
  • Must be able to work in a team environment with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Google Suite

Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of social media advertising best practices.
  • Experience with motion graphics or animation is a plus.
  • Proficiency in additional editing software (e.g., Premiere, After Effects, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Exceptional communication skills; verbal, non-verbal, and written, with the ability to tailor a conversation or a request to each unique individual (clients and employees alike) to achieve a desired outcome
