Internship - Evaluation and Health Equity

Project Title:  Evaluation and Health Equity Internship


Project Description:  The Health Equity Unit is looking for a curious and engaging individual interested in conducting an internship that will assist with improving their understanding of equitable evaluation practices including qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis. 

The intern will assist with qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis of grant activities for a mid-year evaluation of over 50 sub-recipients, which represent a wide range of organizations including larger agencies such as community health centers to small non-profit agencies.  These agencies are recipients of grant funding to reduce the impact of COVID-19 on disproportionately affected populations, reduce vaccine hesitancy, and address the social determinants of health.  The intern will also have the opportunity to shadow Equity Resource Specialists in activities such as providing technical assistance to interested applicants, development of scopes of work and budget for awarded grantees, and contract monitoring. 
 

Objectives:

By the end of the internship (end of December or early January), the intern will be able to list the steps associated with contract monitoring processes for immunization and health disparities grant sub-recipients.

By the end of the internship (end of December or early January), the intern will conduct double coding for qualitative data on 25% of the sub-recipient deliverables. 

By the end of the internship (end of December or early January), the intern will gain working knowledge of equitable evaluation principles through internship experiences and reading existing literature on the topic. 

 

Deliverables or outcomes: 

Assist with reviewing feedback to the mid-cycle evaluation presentation and use feedback to improve existing evaluation and measurement plan of the Immunization and Health Disparities awards.

Assist with qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis for Immunization and Health Disparities awards.
