Department of Art Education Design Assistant - GA

This position requires assisting and supporting the department office manager and faculty by utilizing and growing skills in leadership and outreach. Duties include coordinating social media posts on different platforms, creating print and digital materials for the annual conference and summer graduate institutes, and other professional activities with duties as assigned that support and promote the art education undergraduate and graduate programs. Qualifications include strong technology and communication skills to maintain, update and grow the department’s online presence with social media and website platforms; design thinking skills for the creation of print and digital media; research skills for data collection and preprocessing; as well as resource management skills to assist with planning and scheduling relevant projects or activities. The graduate assistant should be self-motivated, organized, and energetic, coupled with the ability to efficiently and effectively complete assigned tasks while also demonstrating initiative. Professionalism and maintaining healthy communication with diverse populations are essential. The position requires an on-campus presence between 8:00am-4:30pm. The schedule will be created in conversation with the department office manager and chair. Preference will be given to a graduate student in the College of Visual and Performing Arts but students in other colleges will also be considered.

 

This position is for 20 hours/week of work (300 hours for the spring semester), and it provides a tuition waiver for 9 graduate credits plus a stipend of $3,750 per semester.  Please contact Lisandra Mejia for additional information if needed at mejia@kutztown.edu.
