The United States Space Force (USSF) at Peterson Space Force Base is searching for a Budget Analyst for Det 5 FM (NH-0560-02, GS 5 - 11 equivalent).

Description:
We use GPS every day, so wouldn’t it be cool to work alongside the program that is used by so many (personal, commercial, and military) around the world! This is an entry level budget analyst position with a development track like the DoD Palace Acquire (PAQ) construct without the military or college requirements. This position is the same as PAQ with a 3-year process that will provide training and increased responsibilities. Once training and a 3-year period is satisfactorily completed, you will be placed into the NH-03 broadband (GS-12/13 equivalent).

Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy and to use computers and a variety of software programs and databases, gather and analyze a variety of budgetary processes/actions, make sound judgments concerning program progress, and effectively communicate recommendations orally and in writing to higher organizational management and contractors. Ability to gather, assemble, and analyze data to prepare budget estimates, develop alternatives, and make recommendations to resolve budget/funding problems.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Knowledge of commonly used budgetary methods, practices, procedures, regulations, policies, and processes to formulate, justify, and execute the budget for assigned budget accounts.

2. Knowledge of agency program goals and objectives and the sequence and timing of key program events and milestones; and of planning, programming, presenting, and executing budgets as well as forecasting long-term funding requirements.

3. Skill in the application of methods and techniques (e.g., cost-benefit analysis, ZBB, amortization, depreciation, and pro-rating revenues and costs among customers) to analyze and evaluate the effects of changes in program plans and funding.

4. Ability to gather, assemble, and analyze data to prepare budget estimates, develop alternatives, and make recommendations to resolve budget/funding problems.

5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, with technical accuracy and to use computers and a variety of software programs and databases, gather and analyze a variety of budgetary processes/actions, make sound judgments concerning program progress, and effectively communicate recommendations orally and in writing to higher organizational management and contractors.

Requirements:
1. Must be a U.S Citizen.
2. Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
3. May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
4. May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
5. Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
6. This position is eligible for telework 4-6 days a pay period.
7. PCS / Relocation funding is not available.
