Research Assistant - ECECS

Position Type: Federal Work Study and Non-Work Study 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Conduct research in the following topic "Machine Learning Algorithms for Medical Imaging and Diagnostics" under supervision of Dr Mohamed Nafea and Shadi Bani Taan.
• Assist with Dr. Nafea's research, particularly with general research-related tasks including but not limited to literature review, data collection, coding, etc.
• Assist with research activities and research agenda of Dr. Nafea's research group, including Website updates, scheduling, and organization, etc.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Senior or junior in their bachelor studies with accumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
• Skills in coding in Python, or C++
• Decent mathematical and analytical background.
• Decent background in machine learning algorithms.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Leadership, communication, Microsoft Suite (forms, excel, outlook), Canva, Social Media.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Fluency in computer and tech applications, operating systems, and web development background

Physical Requirements

• Work should be conducted in-person for the first 2 weeks and then remote work could be accommodated.

Anticipated Schedule: 

• 10hrs/week
