Ticket Seller/Taker/Usher/Dome Building Staff - 2024-2025

The student ticketing staff covers many job positions within the ticketing area. These positions include NMU Ticket Office Worker, Event Ticket Seller, Event Ticket Taker, Event Usher, or Superior Dome Building Staff Worker. We use each person interchangeably within all positions. Students applying for these positions should be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills, attention to details and critical thinking skills. Evening and weekend work required. 

Position Duties, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities include, but are not limited to:

Ticket Office

-Assist customers with purchasing of tickets in person, over the phone or online for all events handled through the NMU Ticket Office

-Exceptional customer service skills and ability to engage with customers and staff

-High level of punctuality and dependability

-Office related work: answering phones, calling customers, making copies, filing, creating signs and other various duties as needed

-Enforce ticket/facility policies

-Cash Handling

-Basic computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Docs, Sheets, Forms

-Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

-Ability to work under pressure and remain calm in stressful situations

-Critical thinking skills; using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems 

-Time management

-Organizational and multitasking skills

-Ability to work independently

-Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changes in the work environment/schedule

Ticket Seller

-Assist customers with purchasing tickets to events handled through the NMU Ticket Office

-Cash Handling

-Enforce ticket policies

Ticket Taker

-Scan in customer tickets using a handheld scanner

-Answer customer questions regarding seating or the facilities

-Enforce facility policies

-Help with any cleaning duties during and after events

-Exceptional customer service skills and ability to engage with customers and staff

-High level of punctuality and dependability

-Ability to follow verbal instructions

-Ability to work under pressure and remain calm in stressful situations

-Critical thinking skills; using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

-Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changes in the work environment/schedule 

Ticket Usher (NMU Hockey Games)

-Answer questions from customers regarding seating and general facility questions

-Help with any seating disputes

-Traffic flow during the game for your assigned section

-Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changes in the work environment/schedule

Superior Dome Building Staff

-Answer customer questions regarding the facilities; to include walking hours, turf use 

-Enforce facility policies

-Help with any cleaning duties, event setup or take down duties, 

-Exceptional customer service skills and ability to engage with customers and staff

-High level of punctuality and dependability

-Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

-Ability to work independently

-Critical thinking skills; using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

-Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changes in the work environment/schedule
