Music Industry Intern

Hip-Hop Record Label Internship Opportunity

Our record label is home to a diverse roster of R&B, Rap, and Hip-Hop artists, and we are looking for a driven, hungry intern to join our team in a hands-on, physical capacity to support our work in A&R, marketing, social media, and talent management/development.

This is not your average internship—there’s no coffee-fetching here. You’ll be an integral part of the team, working directly with the General Manager and Marketing Lead to ensure our artists are properly represented and strategically positioned to grow their brands and fan bases. This is an invaluable opportunity to gain firsthand experience in the music industry and contribute to the rise of the next generation of stars.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Short-Form Content Creation: Assist in editing and producing high-quality short-form content for platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. (Video editing is encouraged but not required—we can train you!)
  • Social Media Management: Help manage and optimize artist and label profiles across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, and more.
  • Marketing Support: Collaborate with the General Manager and Marketing Lead to strategize and execute promotional campaigns, ensuring our artists are positioned for maximum exposure and impact.
  • A&R Development: Work hands-on in scouting, developing, and managing talent, assisting in branding and creative direction for projects.
  • Industry Outreach: Assist in preparing materials and communications for music directors, program managers, and major platform representatives to expand artist opportunities.
  • Street Team Coordination: Support the creation and management of street teams to promote artists in local markets.

Requirements:

  • Driven and Hungry: We’re looking for individuals passionate about music and eager to make an impact in the industry.
  • Proficiency in Social Media Platforms: A strong understanding of how to create and optimize content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Twitter.
  • Preferred Skills: Experience with Google Suite, Canva, and CapCut (or other video editing tools).
  • Detail-Oriented and Organized: Strong ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Team Player: Willing to collaborate with artists, staff, and other interns across various regions.
  • Adaptability: Open to learning new skills and growing within the team.

Opportunities:

  • Onsite and Remote Work: While the role is primarily onsite in New Jersey and New York City, there is flexibility for remote work. A minimum of 1-2 days per week onsite is required.
  • Mentorship: Work directly with the General Manager and Marketing Lead, gaining insights and industry knowledge.
  • Long-Term Potential: This internship is designed to prepare you for a long-term career in the music industry.
  • Hands-On Experience: Be part of an exciting, fast-paced environment where your work directly impacts artist success.
  • Networking: Build connections with industry professionals and collaborate with artists and teams across multiple locations.

Diversity and Inclusivity:

We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment and encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds.
