Air Resources Supervisor I

The Clean Transportation Outreach Section, located within the Equitable Mobility Incentives Branch, is in immediate need of a qualified Air Resources Supervisor 1 (ARS 1) to lead a team of professional staff that oversee a suite of incentive projects designed to increase access to zero-emission and near-zero emission light-duty vehicles and mobility options. These projects include, but are not limited to, the Sustainable Community-Based Transportation Equity Mobility Projects and vehicle purchasing projects. In addition, these projects have a focus on increasing zero-emission transportation access to lower-income residents, including those living in low-income and disadvantaged communities. This section is responsible for the design and implementation of outreach related to these programs. The Section also engages with the community and other stakeholders to identify issues and priorities related to awareness, ability, and willingness of the target audience to fully access options and use these programs.

This position also works closely with and may assist with related projects across the branch and across the division. This position works closely and collaboratively with the other supervisors within the Equitable Mobility Incentives Branch to ensure all activities of the Branch are accomplished in a coordinated manner. Supporting the Branch Chief, this position aids in developing and motivating staff, strategic planning, and promoting an equitable workplace. This position also engages in routine travel.

Working Conditions

 

The positions at the CARB may be eligible for telework with in-person attendance based on the operational needs of the position under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program need. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of hybrid telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the position’s designated headquarters location at their own expense, as indicated on their duty statement.

  • Requires being in a stationary position, consistent with office work, for extended periods. 
  • Standard office environment (for example, artificial lighting, controlled temperature, etc.) 
  • Daily use of a personal computer, office equipment, and/or telephone.
