Water Quality Intern | City of Thornton

Perform scheduled collection of raw water samples and laboratory tests, including PH analyses, temperature, residual chlorine titration's, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, turbidity and secchi disk depth readings.

Conduct outside sampling at water resource sites, set up and read field testing equipment.

Enter field data into computer database on a daily basis.

Deliver samples to Water Quality Analysts and complete chain of custody documentation.

Conduct on-site analysis and limited physical, chemical and bacteriological analysis including calibration of field meters and calculation of flow measurements of outfalls.

Check chlorine levels in system; takes water samples throughout system on a regular basis and performs special well sampling.

Prepare water samples for testing and processing. Pick up, preserves, and delivers laboratory samples to other laboratories for analyses and set up of water samples.

Collect well and sludge samples; dries and prepares sludge samples for outside lab analysis.

Assist with laboratory equipment cleaning, maintenance and inventory.
