Clinical Support Associate

 

The Clinical Support Associate provides customer service and access support functions including telephone and face to face screenings, scheduling appointments, consumer/family orientation, education, and intake functions, as well as coordination of referrals for individuals seeking substance abuse and behavioral health services. Maintains an up-to-date referral list on a continual basis, triages referrals for services based on screening procedures, maintains an up to date wait list if applicable, and is available to staff and the community to provide information and coordination for consumers and efficient access to services. Must be able to screen and interpret data about the consumer’s status in order to identify consumer needs and react accordingly. Acts as a liaison with billing and finance to assure that appropriate funding/insurance information is in place for consumers in services. Provides direct services including phone contact, face to face interactions and completion of Biopsychosocial assessments. Provides administrative support including front desk coverage, scanning, copying, filing, maintaining databases, meeting minutes, etc. Demonstrates computer knowledge by using multiple databases including the electronic health record as well as required State databases including but not limited to NJSAMS and CYBER. Must be able to use Microsoft Excel and Word. Works as part of the clinical team in contributing to the consumer’s needs across the programs in the department. Assists management with preparation for various audits.

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in mental health and or related human services discipline. Experience with customer service and public relations with consumers (or their families) and dealing with behavioral and mental health difficulties, both on the phone and in person, is required.
