Summary
Join our team developing high performance Silicon RFIC solutions for next-generation mobile applications! Document and present your work to a broad audience of co-workers. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your peer network to launch a career in this important field.
Located in Silicon Valley amongst major customers, the Skyworks San Jose Design Center is seeking motivated individuals eager to join a winning team in the competitive mobile communications market. With a headcount over 100, the San Jose Design Center is comprised of tightly-knit, diverse, and multi-cultural teams of 4 to 8 members. Every team is guided by the core principles of sharing, openness, collaboration, accountability, and trust. Personally contribute to the realization of RF Front-End integrated circuits used in mobile phones from initial concept to final production, whether your specialty is in multi-chip modules, power amplifiers, RFICs or PMICs, RF filters, Validation, Test, Product Engineering, or Assembly. See your valuable inputs directly translate into new ways of solving common problems, improved design methodology, or enhanced business culture or the work environment. Join us to experience all aspects of highly integrated semiconductor, module, and embedded RF circuits design, our in-house prototype Assembly lab capable of building fully packaged samples, and our world-class RF characterization laboratory.
Job Responsibilities
- Working with a mentor and within a design team you will have the opportunity to combine RFIC design with RF/Microwave electromagnetic simulations to realize advanced RF switches, directional couplers, and other RF/Microwave front-end components.
- You will participate in all phases of the development, including product definition, architecture, system, transistor-level circuit design, layout/layout supervision, top level simulations, lab debug and production test support.
Requirements
- Must be a student, enrolled in a university making forward progress towards a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, returning to the academic program following Skyworks intern assignment
- Familiarity in Silicon RFIC and Analog circuit design concepts. On-chip passive circuit design experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of RF active circuit requirements and concepts, including noise, linearity, bandwidth, both small signal and large signal
- Solid understanding of microwave/RF fundamentals, such as s-parameters, Smith Charts, matching networks, noise figure, and transmission lines. Knowledge in low-noise amplifiers and biasing networks is a plus
- Hands-on experience with both time and frequency domain circuit simulators, such as Cadence (Spectre, EMX), ADS (Momentum, FEM), or HFSS
- Experience and familiarity with RF test equipment, including network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, DC power supplies, and RF probes. Knowledge of network analyzer calibration and reference plane deembedding a plus
