Policy Coordinator (Natural Resources Program Coordinator): This position coordinates, integrates, and tracks the development of complex regulatory policy and planning activities related to air quality management and Clean Air Act implementation. This position will work with all major elements of the Air Management Program (including permitting, monitoring, planning, and compliance staff), as well as division and department management, to support program implementation of the act consistent with department policies. This position will focus on coordination efforts needed to address priority state air quality initiatives. This position will also conduct science-based policy development and analysis work related to these initiatives.

The position will work with the U.S. EPA and other external stakeholders such as industry, utilities, environmental organizations, community groups, and the Air Management Study Group on activities related to this position.

Required qualifications for this position include experience in all of the following:

*Researching, analyzing, and interpreting complex written materials (e.g., regulations or administrative code, technical reports, and policy documents).

*Program and/or project management (e.g. leading teams, managing deadlines, monitoring progress, evaluating effectiveness, recommending and implementing improvements, etc.)

*Communicating complex technical topics to a variety of audiences verbally and through written materials.  

This position, best-qualified applicants in addition to above qualifications will also have any combination the following:

*Experience interpreting and applying state administrative codes and federal regulations/policies.

*Education and/or experience in one or more of the following areas: air quality policy; environmental policy; natural resources management; and/or chemistry, engineering, or other related science.  

*Experience implementing activities or administering programs under the Clean Air Act.

Experience drafting, developing and/or implementing state or federal rules, regulations, or policies related to environmental issues.
